«Henry Nowak’s death mirrors how a civilisation collapses: neglected, restrained by officials who neither trusted him nor showed concern, and accused of hate crimes he never committed,» Vance stated on X.

«His killing is both heartbreaking and infuriating.»

The situation regarding 18-year-old Henry Nowak, who was restrained by police while dying after an attack by Vickrum Digwa in Southampton last December, has sparked significant political debate across the UK.

Digwa, aged 23, deceived police by claiming he was the victim and that Nowak had racially insulted him.

Currently, President Donald Trump’s administration has increasingly engaged in the discourse, with Vance—known for his long-standing criticism of European migration policies—becoming the top US official to address this murder.

«He would still be alive if recent generations of European leaders had resisted the politics of self-reproach and mass migration from people, many of whom disdain the West and its supporters,» Vance commented.

«Henry was not the first life lost so pointlessly, and there is concern he won’t be the last.»

On Thursday, the US State Department accused the UK of practising «two-tiered policing» in an official statement.

Elon Musk, tech entrepreneur and billionaire owner of X, has also made several posts on the platform regarding the police conduct following the stabbing.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer criticized Musk on Thursday, accusing him of «attempting to incite division» within Britain.
