As Cyprus’s rotating EU presidency nears its conclusion, Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna emphasizes the nation’s commitment to diligently advancing the remaining stages of EU membership negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova.
In a conversation on Euronews’ leading morning program Europe Today, Cyprus’ Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna characterized the initiation of accession talks with Ukraine and Moldova during Cyprus’ EU presidency rotation as a significant achievement.

Following this progress, Raouna states the presidency will stay «determined until the final moment» to foster «further constructive outcomes».
Raouna also noted that Cyprus is serving as an «impartial mediator» regarding the EU’s multiannual financial framework. «We have suggested a balanced 2% reduction as a middle ground,» Raouna affirmed.
Having led the EU for six months, Cyprus is now preparing to transfer the rotating presidency to Ireland.
