At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Ilham Aliyev told Euronews that international relations are «entering a new era».
During a unique interview on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Azerbaijan’s president Ilham Aliyev remarked that the global order is undergoing transformation.
«International relations are shifting into a new phase, one where power, rather than law, dictates the dynamics,» the president stated.
«Each nation must develop its strategy and policies based on its own capabilities,» he added.
When questioned about the conditions in the South Caucasus and the areas surrounding Azerbaijan, he expressed hope that «the situation would not worsen».
«I trust every country will help maintain regional stability and security,» the president said. «We are troubled by some instability in Iran, and for us, stability, predictability, and peace in the area are our greatest assets.»
Azerbaijan, recognized for its gas exports, began this week delivering gas shipments to Germany and Austria.
«Currently, we supply natural gas to 16 countries, with 10 among them being European Union members,» Aliyev detailed. «Thus, in terms of geographical coverage of pipeline gas supply, Azerbaijan ranks first worldwide.»
