Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia launched 119 drones overnight, intercepting 97 of them. 20 drones successfully struck 11 sites across Ukraine.

A Russian drone attack in the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia resulted in one fatality and injured seven individuals, emergency officials announced Wednesday morning.

«A fire erupted in a three-level residential structure encompassing 800 square meters. Rescue personnel had to take shelter multiple times due to ongoing enemy threats,» stated Ukraine’s state emergency service on Telegram, adding that the fire was extinguished during the early hours.

«Damage was sustained to residential buildings, vehicles, and civilian infrastructure in several parts of the city,» officials reported.

Ivan Fedorov, Governor of Zaporizhzhia Region, confirmed that Russia executed five strikes on the city, partially damaging Zaporizhzhia National University, according to authorities.

Attacks by Russian forces also targeted the Sumy region, where a riding school was hit, leading to several animal casualties, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy regional military administration.

The Air Force of Ukraine stated Russia assaulted Ukraine with 119 drones overnight, with 97 intercepted. Twenty drones impacted 11 locations across Ukraine.

These strikes occurred as G7 leaders prepared for the closing day of their summit in Évian, where they collectively reaffirmed support for Ukraine and its citizens.

In a unified statement issued last night, G7 leaders declared their «steadfast support for Ukraine in defending its freedom, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.»

The leaders acknowledged Kyiv’s recent advances on the battlefield and committed to enhance support by increasing shipments of air defense systems, more interceptors, and extended-range capabilities.

The recent US-Iran framework agreement has strengthened moves to limit Russia’s ability to finance its war, with leaders vowing to impose stricter sanctions on its energy sector.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump announced the possibility of reintroducing sanctions on Russian oil shipments as the volume of oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz increases.

While the Iran conflict has lately dominated attention over Ukraine, Trump expressed his intention to shift focus following the announcement of an accord aimed at ending the three-and-a-half-month-old Gulf conflict.
