In another event, the Lebanese Army announced the deaths of three soldiers, including a brigadier-general, a captain, and a private, attributing the fatalities to what was termed an «aggressive and barbaric» strike by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The IDF confirmed they struck a vehicle transporting Lebanese military members and stated that an inquiry into the incident has been initiated. They explained that the vehicle had been behaving «suspiciously» near their forces and reported gunfire in the vicinity.
This series of attacks took place amid escalating regional tensions, coinciding with the 100th day since the strikes led by the United States and Israel against Tehran began on February 28.
Israel is not engaged in direct hostilities with the Lebanese government, which continues to work toward achieving a ceasefire and reducing border tensions.
