The renewed criticism toward Europe emerges only months after Trump’s updated national security strategy warned of the continent facing “civilisational erasure” as a result of immigration.

The administration of US President Donald Trump labeled Europe as a “breeding ground” for terrorism driven by mass migration, according to a new counter-terrorism strategy revealed on Wednesday.

The strategy also targets “violent left-wing extremists,” including groups described as “radically pro-transgender,” indicating an intensification of political pressure from Trump’s conservative team against its adversaries.

It further centers counter-terrorism efforts on drug cartels within the Americas.

However, the most severe criticisms are directed at Europe, home to many of the US’s closest allies, who are likely to be troubled by their continent featuring again in the Trump administration’s critical spotlight.

“It is apparent to all that well-organized hostile factions utilize open borders and the globalist agenda. The expansion of these foreign cultures and the continuation of current European policies will inevitably lead to increased terrorism,” the strategy asserts.

“As the origin of Western civilization and its principles, Europe needs to intervene now to stop its deliberate deterioration,” states the strategy, authored by counter-terrorism coordinator Sebastian Gorka, who has faced allegations of associations with far-right groups.

This renewed scrutiny of Europe follows only months after Trump’s updated national security plan warned that immigration could result in the continent’s “civilisational erasure.”

Trump has also recently criticized European NATO allies for not sufficiently supporting his approach toward Iran.

The administration places considerable emphasis on left-wing factions, labeling them as a key concern. The strategy targets what it describes as “violent Left-Wing Extremists, including Anarchists and Anti-Fascists.”

The document states that the US counter-terrorism approach will “focus on swiftly identifying and neutralizing violent secular political groups whose ideologies are anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist.”

It specifically references the alleged murderer of Trump supporter and conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, described as “a radical who advocated extreme transgender ideologies.”

Since returning to power last year, Trump has consistently opposed any acknowledgment of gender diversity and transgender identities.

He often boasts about policies enacted by his administration, such as banning transwomen from women’s sports, and shortly after his inauguration, he signed an executive order affirming that only two genders exist.
